Getting involved

With the Hall now open, we need more people to help with running and managing the Hall.  Do you have a few hours you could spare each month to volunteer and help with the Village Hall?  We need volunteers in several aspects of running the Hall including:

  • the Pop-Up Café and Tuck Shop,

  • opening and closing the car park gate each day,

  • joining the Management Group which runs the Hall on a day-to-day basis,

  • advertising and publicity

  • social and other events

  • safety and security

  • website and social media management

We really want to organise some more community events but we’re going to need some help – this is our hall for our Community, run for our community, by the community, so if you want to get involved, please get in touch with Martin Boniface or Tina Pell.

Easyfundraising

If you shop online, did you know you could be raising funds for the Hall when buying items online including clothes, gadgets, your weekly shop or even holidays and breaks.  Simply go to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/drakesbroughtonvillagehall/ and select Drakes Broughton Village Hall as your good cause and they will do the rest.  Every time you shop via the easyfundraising link, a donation is made to Hall funds.

There are over 4,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds. There are no catches or hidden charges.

Clothing Bins

There are two clothing bins located in the Village Hall Car Park waiting to take your donations of good quality clothes, paired shoes, bags and belts.  This is a great way to support the Hall and we raise over £600 each year which makes this a valued source of income for the Hall.

Please note that donations should be placed in bags and do not block the chutes or leave items on the floor if the bins are full.  They are checked regularly.

The donated items are sorted into around 160 different grades. Depending on the item, will determine the sales market. Most of the clothing is shipped to African Countries. It's also shipped to Pakistan (lower value items) & Eastern Europe (high value or cream items). Some of the items are purchased by local and regional market online retailers.
